Top 5 Best Moments of 2017 in Boston Sports

Welcome back! I'm happy to be writing again and looking forward to a massive New Year in Boston Sports where so many storylines are on the horizon. But since it's the last day of the year, let us celebrate the successful year we had in Boston Sports with the top 5 best moments!

5) The Catch That Wasn't
(Pennlive.com)
The highs and lows of this moment were so drastic. They went from the anger of the Steelers driving right down the field after a signature Tom Brady clutch drive to absolute electricity after the NFL continues lack the knowledge about what defines a catch. The drop set up yet another idiotic goal-line play call against the Patriots in a clutch situation, giving the Pats the red carpet to AFC home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

4) Julian Incredleman

Finally we can celebrate a crazy catch on the biggest stage. After the astounding comeback, ace wide receiver, Julian Edelman, made the signature play. Edelman showed insane concentration on the play, and knew he had it the whole time. The best part is listening to a mic'd up Edelman during the play telling off the Falcons players who were hoping he hadn't made such an unreal catch. Shows off the competitor Edelman truly is.

3) IT drops 53 in the Playoffs
(WTOP.com)
This moment was heavy. Still less than a month had passed since Isaiah Thomas's late sister, Chyna left us. It's unfathomable to imagine his emotions during such challenging times, not even to mention the playoffs were going on throughout all of this. IT showed why he will always be a Boston legend with the show he put on in Game 2 of the Eastern conference Semifinals. He single-handidly gave the Celtics a dub against arguably the best backcourt in the NBA. The Garden was rocking, and Isaiah elevated to legend status right there.

2) The Press Conference
(Bleacher Report)
The plan finally came to fruition on September 1, 2017. Celtics President of Basketball Operations, Danny Ainge showcased his 2 new shiny toys to the world. The signing of all-star Gordon Hayward on America's Independence Day electrified Boston. Now it was 2 years in a row where the Celts brought in a top-tier free agent. Hayward is legit, and the expectations were high. Then, as almost everyone not living under a rock knows, Hayward suffered a gruesome ankle and leg injury 5 minutes into his Celtics career. It was devastating. All of the Celtics organization and fans are just wishing Gordon the best through his recovery, and can't wait to see him back and better. After years of waiting for that big superstar, Ainge did the unexpected and traded the aforementioned franchise player, Isaiah Thomas along with other players and picks for NBA champion, all-star Point Guard Kyrie Irving. Kyrie seems to already be an upgrade if you've watched the Celtics so far this season. His dazzling moves, control of the offensive pace, and surprising defensive effort and effectiveness have lead the team to the best record in the Eastern conference so far. And don't forget, he's only 25 years old!

1) 34-28
(USA Today Sports FTW)
Yeah so this was pretty cool. First off, teams up by 19+ through 3 quarters in NFL playoff history were 93-0 in those games. 93-1 now. Greatest game ever doesn't even to begin to describe the craziness of the game itself. From looking at the metaphorical end of an era to celebrating the undisputed greatest quarterback of all time in the span of just a couple hours is absurd. All Pats fans were in euphoria that whole night right after Super Bowl hero, James White, crossed the end zone to end the greatest comeback ever. Words can't even describe the emotions and pure happiness of that night, number 5 for the greatest duo in football.

Happy New Year to everyone!
