Current State of the Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox are arguably the most talented team in the MLB. But why are they not being considered as real World Series' threats? They sure do have the talent with All-stars Sale, Betts, Kimbrel, as well as former All-Stars in Rick Porcello (also last year's AL CY Young winner), David Price, Xander Bogaerts. They have a World Series winning manager in John Farrell, and a proven GM in Dave Dombrowski who has proven he can make the right moves for the current team (while also depleting a top 5 farm system, but that's for another day). The reason why? The talent isn't performing.  Sure Mookie Betts was an All-Star this year but he's nowhere near his last-year's MVP front-runner self, only hitting .274 this year. Bogaerts is hitting for a strong average, sure, but 6 home runs? You can't be looked at as a top-tier superstar in the MLB if you are on pace for 12 home runs. Price has actually been solid since returning from injury, but Rick Porcello has been...

Gordon Hayward is a Celtic and it is Fantastic

Image
First off, where is the "fire Danny Ainge" crowd? It would be awfully hard to continue to preach that awful notion after Ainge sealed the deal by signing a star free agent for the second year in a row in Gordon Hayward. It wasn't the smoothest process. The signing was leaked before Hayward intended to announce his move, his agent strictly denied that report, and Hayward eventually wrote a piece on  The Player's Tribune  confirming his move to the Celtics. So yeah, not the greatest look, but nonetheless, HAYWARD IS A CELTIC! The basketball fit is absolutely perfect, literally written up from the basketball bible (Brad Stevens definitely wrote this). The Celtics were in desperate need of a wing scorer to take the load off of IT until our guy Gordon signed up. With Hayward aboard, IT doesn't have to worry about double teams and complex defensive schemes against him. Imagine a beautiful sequence of IT taking the ball up the cour...

Why This Blog is for You

Sports are the biggest part of my life. Whether I am either reading about sports, playing sports, or researching any aspect, I am proud to say that sports are my passion in life. Writing about sports has always been a dream of mine, and today, it comes true. I came from filming a TV show, to making yearly predictions, and ranting to any known human about the beauty of athletics. This blog is what it is. It’s a sports blog, but not one that blends into the crowd. It’s a blog, but the new wave of blogs. This is somewhere you will come when you are looking for the right mix of facts, fun, and opinions. It will appeal to all sorts of sports fans, the casual and the fanatics. And you, the followers of this blog, are who decide the fate of the work here. As a Boston native, I’ll focus on the Boston teams for now with a healthy dose of national news, and as we grow, the sky's the limit. Or, in other words, the ceiling is the roof. Welcome to the start of something special, The City of C...

Celtics' Current Position and Future

Plan A+ was ruined last night with impatience and idiocy by Mr. Kevin Pritchard. By plan A+, I am alluding to the Celtics' reported pursuit of signing Gordon Hayward in free agency, then followed by a trade for Paul George, which was confirmed by Woj on SportsCenter. Buuuuuttttttttt, the Pacers are dumb. I don’t blame Danny Ainge for the trade last night which sent Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder in return for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis. He is being unfairly criticized because of another team’s stupidity. Ainge’s process was widely spoken about in terms of waiting for Hayward, then striking a deal for George. It would’ve been logical for the Pacers to wait for that to happen, then finalize the deal, because no team matches what the Celtics can offer in any deal. Even if the Celtics didn’t get Hayward, Indiana would still have many suitors for George, and could’ve made something happen in just a couple weeks, but for some reason, Indiana HAD to get a deal don...
